Project Brief Royal Salute and Aberlour Whisky approached Stackd Productions to create a shared brand retail unit inside Heathrow Terminal 4 as part of the World Duty Free experience. The challenge was to house two distinct luxury whisky brands within one cohesive footprint, balancing their individual identities while delivering a seamless, premium consumer experience. The installation required high-end materials and finishes, while meeting the stringent fire, smoke, and safety regulations of airport environments. The structure needed to be durable, visually striking, and built to remain in place for multiple years.
Project Execution We engineered a permanent dual-brand display using premium materials such as solid brass, precision-cut metal shelving, dye-bond panels, and clear acrylics, achieving a polished, high-end finish. Adhering strictly to Heathrow’s regulatory requirements, all materials used were FR-rated, low-smoke, zero-halogen, and all lighting control systems met C.E. European Standards with compliant electronic gear. The build was completed off-site and installed with meticulous attention to detail to minimise disruption to terminal operations. The result was a high-spec unit that elevated the retail presence of both brands equally, without compromise.
Design Idea
Our concept focused on creating a single structure with dual personalities, balancing Royal Salute’s regal heritage with Aberlour’s rich, craft-driven identity. Materiality played a crucial role: polished brass details evoked Royal Salute’s prestige, while darker metal tones and textural contrasts spoke to Aberlour’s depth and tradition. A subtle architectural division defined each side, while shared design elements maintained harmony. Ambient lighting, bespoke shelving, and clear brand zoning allowed both stories to shine side-by-side in a refined, unified retail environment.
